Symptoms of ME, CFS, and PVFS can all be triggered by a viral illness such as glandular fever. Symptoms can include; very low levels of energy, extreme tiredness after exercise, sleep disorders, problems with digestion, poor memory and concentration, painful muscles and joints, and painful lymph glands. You may feel an overwhelming sense of being out of control of your health and physical wellbeing, perhaps for the first time in your life.
The mind – body connection is an important factor in these illnesses. High levels of anxiety create high levels of adrenaline which over time will affect all the body’s systems, eventually suppressing the immune system or leading to auto-immune diseases. If you have been diagnosed with one of these conditions and you tends to brood and worry about your health, you could start to feel that your symptoms are getting worse and worse.
Feeling unwell causes a lot of stress, which will make you feel more ill, which makes you think more and more about how you are feeling. This will then cause you to feel more stressed and anxious, which will make you feel more unwell. You can develop cycles of thinking and worrying about your health. This can go on for months or even years.
You can change the way you feel, and improve your symptoms of ME, CFS, and PVFS by reducing your stress levels and allowing yourself to get on with everyday life.
I can help you with this.
